PWG Presents ”Astonishing X-Mas” On Friday, Dec 16!

Ojai, California – It seems that every time the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) championship changes hands thing become quite tumultuous backstage, and this time was not exception. At PWG’s “Chanukah Chaos (The C’s Are Silent)” Joey Ryan became the seventh man to hold the PWG title after a very controversial bout that saw PWG Senior Official Rick Knox get knocked out, Chris Bosh hit Joey Ryan with a steel chair, and Super Dragon nail former champion Kevin Steen with two consecutive Psycho Drivers. Not only did this allow Joey Ryan to virtually steal the title, it also managed to intensify the long standing rivalry between Steen and Super Dragon, which appears to be reaching its breaking point at PWG’s “Astonishing X-Mas” on Friday, December 16 at the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC at 8:00PM!Due to a concussion from the two consecutive Psycho Drivers from Super Dragon, Kevin Steen wasn’t all there when he returned to the locker room after losing the PWG title, but the moment he regained his senses and figured out what happened, an irate Kevin Steen had one goal in mind: to destroy Super Dragon. It didn’t matter that Steen’s partner’s Disco Machine & Excalibur had very nearly captured the PWG Tag Team Titles, and his interference would cost them the match, his revenge would not be denied. The resulting brawl was one of the scariest and wildest events in PWG, so logic dictates that when the two men are alone in the ring, with various pieces of “plunder” at hand, it will most likely be the most brutal encounter in PWG history. Commissioner Dino Winwood has stated that he will not sanction this match, and whatever happens to these two men is not the responsibility of PWG.

A match which lacks the history of the Steen-Dragon rivalry, but has just as much interest is the first title defense of “The Technical Wizard” Joey Ryan, where he will put the belt on the line against longtime fan favorite Chris Kanyon! At first glance, Kanyon appears to be an unorthodox choice as a challenger for the PWG Championship; however, since his return to active competition in professional wrestling, he has made quite an impression on many people, including Commissioner Winwood. Couple that with the hatred between the current Commissioner and the new champion, and fans will be the winners when they find out “Who Betta Than Kanyon?”

Also taking place at “Astonishing X-Mas” on December 16 at the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC at 8:00PM:

Roderick Strong makes his return to PWG to team with high flying sensation Jack Evans to take on duo professionally known as “2 Skinny Black Guys,” Human Tornado & El Generico!

Davey Richards resumes his unofficial trial series as he faces (and is potentially in over his head against) the Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe!

Also making his return to PWG is “Classic” Colt Cabana, who will take on Scorpio Sky! The last time Cabana appeared in PWG, Scorpio Sky’s only concern was the Tag Team Titles, but now he’s focused on moving up the singles ranks, and intends to use Colt Cabana as a stepping stone to glory!

In recent months, you couldn’t mention Scorpio Sky without mentioning Scott Lost, but after suffering a loss to Scorpio Sky in their “I Quit!” match last weekend, Sky is looking forward, and Lost is looking to regain some momentum. However, he will have his work cut out for him when he faces Alex Shelley!

Chris Bosh will be on hand to share his thoughts about the PWG title picture, the holiday season, and Scott Lost’s claim that he is the Chris Bosh of Arrogance, and that Chris Bosh is the Charlie Villanueva. If you understand that joke, you may be qualified for PWG’s Summer 2006 Internship Program, where you could earn college credit!

Frankie Kazarian, TJ Perkins, Rocky Romero, & Chris Sabin team up in a gigantic 8-Men Tag Team Match to take on B-Boy, Christopher Daniels, Alex Koslov, & Petey Williams!

Plus Quicksilver, Top Gun Talwar, Ronin, Dino Winwood, and more!
