AWS – 26 Nov. 05 – Results

AWS returned to the Frank and Son Arena with “Turkey Sandwich 2005”
this past Saturday, 11/26/05. All matches sanctioned by the National Wrestling
Alliance.

The show opened with a nice 10-bell salute to Eddie Guerrero, Pat Morita, and
the Grandfather of Peter Goodman. All wrestlers, officials, and Bart were in
the ring for the tribute. Travis then went through the opening introductions,
stating that Hook Bomberry and Lionheart were not in attendance due to injury.
This prompted Charles Mercury and Johnny Paradise to interrupt and state that
they had injured Hook earlier and hired the execrable Ronin to jump Lionheart
in the parking lot. They ran down the crowd saying that there would be no Brass
Knuckles-on-a-Pole. Lionheart’s music hit, and he ran in full speed with
torn clothes and dirt covering him. He went right at Charles Mercury and Paradise
before he was overtaken by the trio. Scorpio Sky’s music hit, and hit ran
in with Lil’ Cholo to break up the carnage. The 6 men brawled briefly before
Mercury, Paradise, and Ronin took off for higher ground. Bart Kapitzke came
to the ring and ruled that the Brass Knuckles-on-a-Pole match would indeed still
happen, but it would now take place in the form of a 6-man tag. Onto the results:
1. The Legendary Sexy Chino upset "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce w/
Mr. Vander Pyle with the O’Connor Roll.

— Pearce came out and was immediately drawn to his love, Boomfreaka, and proceeded
to serenade her. Chino came out to a huge ovation and did his dance. Pearce
got in his face and slapped him for coming to Tornado’s aid last month
before challenging him to face Vander Pyle in a dance contest. Chino accepted.
Of course Pearce attacked him as he began to dance. This match saw Pearce toy
with Chino for several minutes before missing a top rope senton. Chino danced
on Pearce’s back before being tripped up by Vander Pyle. Pearce attempted
to body slam Chino, but he slipped behind, ran Pearce into Vander Pyle, and
rolled Pearce up for the 3 count. The entire locker room emptied and carried
Chino through the arena to a wonderful ovation. Since April, Sexy Chino has
been destroyed and humiliated on every AWS Event. On this day, he held his head
high.
2. Los Chivos defeated Junior and R2K to regain the AWS Tag Titles via Spike
Tombstone Piledriver.

— This was much more competitive than the crowd expected as the incoming champions,
Junior and R2K weren’t ready to let go of their AWS Tag Titles. Unfortunately
for them, the crafty Lucha veteran team of Enigma de Oro and Kayam had other
ideas. This was a classic display of trademark AWS Lucha Libre as both teams
were on and the action was flowing. Junior nearly had the match won with the
same cradle that won them the titles last month, but this time the experience
of Los Chivos won over as referee Danny le did not see the pin attempt. This
opened the door for the Chivos to capitalize and they did, using their double
team Spike Tombstone to take back the gold.
3. Tommy “Kome” Williams retained the CMLL Super Ligero Title over
“Iceman” Webster Dauphiney with an inside cradle.

— This was a hard-hitting encounter to say the least. At one point, it appeared
that Webster Dauphiney had Williams out on his feet with a round kick to the
chin. Referee Marty Rubalcaba stopped a sure 3 count much to the dismay of the
Iceman, who was sure that Tommy was knocked out. Tommy luckily was able to slide
his foot underneath the ropes to constitute the rope break and narrowly escape
defeat. He rallied to hit Dauphiney with a flurry of kicks and a sharp dive
to the concrete floor. In another bad break for Tommy, he dislocated the middle
finger on his left hand on the dive. Fortunately for him, he was able to hook
the Iceman in a deep inside cradle for the pin. He escaped with the belt, but
came up lame. He went to the emergency room as was reported to be fine as this
is being written. He wouldn’t be the only one going to the hospital on
this day.
4. The Plague w/ Mr. Vander Pyle beat Alex Koslov with a flying headbutt.
— This match up looked like a mismatch on paper, but somebody apparently didn’t
tell Alex Koslov that. He came out like a rocket and took it too the much larger
Plague with dropkicks, but was unable to put the big man down. Mr. Vander Pyle
didn’t hesitate to stick his nose in, distracting Koslov enough to allow
the Plague to dismember him with a brutal clothesline. The Plague then opened
the arsenal onto Koslov and didn’t let up. Koslov was able to make a final
comeback, hitting a beautiful Tope con Hilo onto the massive Plague, but in
the end, the Plague was able to hit the flying headbutt for the pin. This was
not the last we’d see of the Plague.
5. “The Forgotten” (Charles Mercury and Johnny Paradise) and Ronin
defeated Lionheart, Scorpio Sky, and Lil’ Cholo in a 6-Man Brass Knuckles-on-a-Pole
match when Mercury nailed Lionheart in the back of the head with the Knucks,
allowing Paradise to get the pin.

— Lionheart was a mad man, slapping, chopping, and punching Charles mercury
like crazy, with mercury returning the favor. Tempers were heated in this one,
which saw all 6 men giving and taking as much as possible. Lil’ Cholo brought
the lucha flavor and looked particularly good. Ronin made a little boy literally
cry in his seat, which ended once the venerable Scorpio Sky came to his aid
and promised to avenge him. This match was wild, as neither team was able to
secure the Brass Knucks until well into the match, when Scorpio Sky finally
was able to grab them. Before he was able to put them to use, Johnny Paradise
used a steel chair behind the referee’s back, landing a vicious blow to
the back of Sky, sending him and the Knucks to the floor. Lionheart went on
the offensive, then landing stiff double chops to anyone in sight. Unfortunately
for him and his team, Charles Mercury was able to get the Knucks off of Sky
outside the ring, and as Lionheart hit the ropes, he nailed him in the back
of the head with the Knucks, knocking him unconscious. Paradise pinned him much
to the chagrin of the crowd as referees and wrestlers tended to Lionheart. Something
tells me this isn’t over.
6. The match between Babi Slymm and Aaron Aguilera was thrown out by referee
Marty Rubalcaba.

— Babi Slymm threw out the challenge to the Plague for a rematch after their
encounter in October only to be denied by Mr. Vander Pyle. The former Hardkore
Kidd jumped at the chance and took the spot. Both men felt each other out early
on with Slymm matching Aguilera move for move. Both men broke cleanly and exhibited
sportsmanship shaking hands until Aguilera seized opportunity by pulling Slymm
into a headlock. They went back and forth, countering each other’s signature
moves until Slymm was able to connect out of nowhere with the Vader Clothesline/Bodyblock,
which sent Aguilera tumbling to the floor. This prompted the entrance of Mr.
Vander Pyle who immediately distracted Slymm and got him to turn his back to
the entrance. This allowed the Plague to hit the ring and attack Slymm from
behind. Plague put the boots to Slymm as Vander Pyle signaled for Adam Pearce
to enter the fray. Pearce ran out, but instead of entering the ring, he motioned
for Vander Pyle to join him near the merchandise area. Pearce pushed several
fans out of the way as he and Vander Pyle took and set up two tables at ringside
as the Plague was battering Slymm. Aaron Aguilera tried to stop Pearce but was
punched in the face and rammed into the ring post for his efforts. Then as the
entire crowd stood aghast, the Plague lifted the 295 pound Slymm over his head
and press slammed him from the ring, over the top rope to the floor through
the two tables. Slymm lay motionless as Scorpio Sky, Human Tornado, and Lionheart
came to attend to him as Aguilera secured a chair and ran off Pearce and Plague.
Aguilera challenged pearce for the next event and several people attended to
Slymm who still was motionless at ringside. He was also taken to the hospital
and diagnosed with a severe concussion. It is unknown at this point how long
Slymm will be out of action as a result.
7. The Human Tornado retained his AWS Title over Al Katrazz by disqualification.
— The H Tizzle came out visibly concerned with what had just taken place with
his friend Babi Slymm just prior to his scheduled title defense against Al Katrazz.
This match was made as a result of the inadvertent Corkscrew moonsault that
Tornado accidentally hit Katrazz with at the end of the brutal Cage match in
October. Katrazz seemed focused and the crowd didn’t seem to know how to
react to Katrazz. Should the cheer him or boo him? It would soon enough become
clear. Tornado was faster and seemed to be one step ahead of the bigger Katrazz.
He seemed to be gaining confidence and began to outwrestle Katrazz at every
turn. Katrazz powdered out to take break, and Tornado went for one of his trademark
dives. Katrazz caught him midair, and drove him backfirst into the ring post.
The crowd began to boo his actions. So he picked Tornado up, and did it again.
Katrazz then dominated the popular Tornado, using his strength and power. Tornado
rallied and attempted to launch himself into Katrazz in the corner, only to
see Katrazz pull referee Rick Knox in front of him. Tornado was able to stop
before nailing Knox, but that enabled Katrazz to go low and hit a nutshot. Tornado
was unaffected, and went for the Pimp Slap, which Katrazz had obviously scouted,
as he ducked and Tornado connected with the jaw of Rick Knox. Knox tumbled to
the floor and Katrazz went to work. Tornado was able to rebound again, and hit
a high angle Tope con Hilo over the ring post and onto Katrazz who stood 10
feet from the ring. Simply amazing. He threw Katrazz in and grabbed a chair.
Referee Knox got back to his feet and started to roll into the ring. Seeing
this, Tornado looked and Knox, then Katrazz, then slammed the chair into the
canvas causing a loud crash. Knox perked up and started to try to look around.
Tornado tosses the chair to Katrazz, fell back and acted as if he was unconscious.
Knox saw Tornado down and Katrazz holding the chair and immediately called for
the bell. Katrazz pleaded with Knox, screaming that he hadn’t used the
chair. Knox would have none of it. Katrazz, visibly pissed, decided that he
might as well use it if he’d been accused, and blasted Tornado with the
chair. He then snapped and went to town on the fallen Tornado. Then a familiar
music began to play and Skulu ran in, making his return. He pleaded with his
former championship partner to stop the violence. Katrazz would have none of
that and attacked Skulu. Skulu rebounded and was about to take charge, when
the Plague and Pearce ran in again, and attacked Tornado and Skulu. This brought
in Aaron Aguilera, who immediately went after Pearce as tornado and Skulu brawled
with Katrazz and Plague. Then the locker room erupted and every competitor filled
the ring and a riot ensued. In the end, Tornado, Skulu, Scorpio Sky, Lionheart
and countless others stood tall and Vander Pyle, his cohorts, and everyone else
cowered away.
