UPW vs. Zero One: War in Japan

When it was announced that Zero-One mainstays and Superstars Predator, Tom Howard and Nathan Jones were to compete to K-1, the Japanese fans and media went crazy and ZERO-ONE issued a challenge to UPW.

The challenge — For UPW to bring its best to defend its honor against the toughest that Zero-One has to offer. With the following condition…bring UPW wrestlers without established names in Japan, and let them fight for the opportunity to make a name for themselves while fighting for their company’s honor. UPW proudly answered that challenge and prepares to go to Japan loaded for bear with Al Katrazz & Oliver John, as the “New Hardkore, Inc.”, Tommy Wilson & Tony Stradlin, teaming as “T n T,” Outlaw Derrick Neikirk, Ma’koa The Hawaiian Warrior and Sabbath.

With the exception of multi-time UPW Tag Team Champion Al Katrazz (who has had only one match in at Zero-One), this is the first visit to Japan for “Team UPW.” This brings to 40 the number of UPW competitors to appear at ZERO-ONE!

To up the ante and the stakes for company honor, ZERO-ONE Boss Yoshiyuki Nakamura has challenged UPW Owner Rick Bassman to go one-on-one on May 16 at Tokyo’s famed Korakuen Hall.

We appreciate the support of Raw Dawg and Puma and most of all, of the UPW fans’ as Team UPW prepares to do battle with some of ZERO-ONE’s toughest competitors.

This now makes 40 UPW superstars that have been sent to ZERO-ONE!
