UPW takes K-1 by Storm

Stefan Gamlin, Tom Howard, & Sylvester Terkay are all set to do battle December 31st on K-1’s New Year’s Eve Spectacular in Japan!

“German Powerhouse” Stefan Gamlin, “Green Beret” Tom Howard and “Predator” Sylvester Terkay have been with UPW from its very beginnings. Throughout the years, the three have been amongst UPW’s most popular and dominant wrestlers.

All three were with WWF. Howard and Terkay are Zero-One Pro Wrestling’s top foreign stars. Gamlin went on to star in “Battledome” and “Wild Rules” and to represent “Team UPW” in its defeat of “Team NFL” on FX’s “Toughman.” In October of this year –and with no previous Mixed Martial Arts training or experience, Gamlin went to K-1 to take on monster sensation Bob Sapp with just two weeks notice. The German Powerhouse was the first ever to score a clean takedown on Sapp, yet went on to succumb due to inexperience.

Nonetheless, due to his competitive spirit and charismatic personality, UPW signed Gamlin to a multi-fight deal with K-1. Upon his return to the US, Stefan went into training with a vengeance, with Eddy Millis and Millis’ famed “Shark Tank.” The 6’7″, 340 lbs. powerhouse is increasing his conditioning and adding to his game each and every day, and promises to be a threat to be contended with on a world-class stage.

Terkay and Howard have been the subject of much interest throughout the years — how would these two men, well-known for their toughness, fare in World-Class No Holds Barred competition? At 6’6″, 300 lbs., Terkay is a former NCAA Heavyweight Wrestling Champion and has practiced in Submissions and Muay Thai kickboxing over the years. Howard is very well-versed in Greco Roman Wrestling and in Sambo and is respected throughout the wrestling world for his submissions acumen. Under the watchful guidance of Millis and The Shark Tank, along with Rico Chipparelli and the world-renown “RAW Team,” each is rounding out his game through a rigorous training schedule.

On December 27, “Team UPW” –Gamlin, Howard, Terkay– will travel to Japan with Manager Rick Bassman and Trainer Eddy Millis to meet the best, 1-on-1, at The Nagoya Dome on New Year’s Eve.
