Long Live the King

May 23 1999 is a day I will never forget. It was a day that was supposed to have a pay per view filled with excitement and spectacle. Instead, it was a day that altered my life. I was watching WWF’s “Over The Edge” and all of a sudden Jim Ross announces something went wrong and assured us it wasn’t part of the show. Owen Hart was proclaimed dead by Jim Ross on air later on in the show. I was in shock, it hit me like a 2 ton pile of bricks. I could no longer watch the event, my heart was saddened that one of the greatest performers was gone. I was at home the next night watching RAW and it was difficult to see and hear stories about OWEN, the reason is because it was really true that my hero was gone. The RAW following his death was an emotional one for me; I cried my eyes out in sadness. I have been a fan of Owen since I first saw him in 1988. He was always the guy that went the extra mile, climbed a little further, and worked a little harder. Owen will always be remembered for being the guy that everyone can admire, inside the ring and out. Owen, you will never be forgotten. Continue to fly with the angels and you will always have a special place in my heart.
