Steve’s View #3

May hasn’t started out how I hoped. Aside from a lucha show down in Tijuana I have yet to check out any wrestling this month. The WWF is at the point where it is unwatchable. Next weekend with Millennium Pro that will all hopefully change.

As most of you may know Revolution Pro’s May 11th show was canceled. It was very unfortunate as this was a much hyped show and even had the Blue Meanie on the card. One thing about Revolution Pro however, is that they really care about the fans. After the show was canceled Ron Rivera invited everyone who showed up over to his house to watch tapes and BBQ. Very cool. Anyways the Spirit of Revolution tournament is now set to kick off on May 25th.

As for MPW they have what looks to be an awesome show lined up for next weekend. Here is the announced card:

MPW WORLD TITLE MATCH
FRANKIE “THE FUTURE” KAZARIAN V. ” THE SICILIAN SHOOTER” GUIDO MARITATO

SPECIAL “NO SUBSTITUTIONS” MATCH
CRAYZ V. TECH IX

SPECIAL 2-OUT-OF-3 FALLS MATCH
SUPER DRAGON V. RISING SON

LOS CUBANITOS V. HIGH IMPACT

“PRIMETIME” PETERSON V. LOGAN X

SUPERBOY V. PILOTO SUICIDA

ALSO FEATURING CINCINNATI RED, “SCRAP IRON” ADAM PEARCE, THE BALLARD BROTHERS, AND MUCH MORE!

Tickets for this show will be $10 or $7 for children under the age of 10. You can reserve tickets by e-mailing TICKETS@MPWWRESTLING.COM, or by calling the MPW hotline at (818) 996-2831.

WCWA was supposed to have a show on the 20th at the IWC Arena, but due to IWC having landlord problems the show has been moved to June 16th at the Rudos Dojo II (Rev Pro’s home). I was really looking forward to this show, and I will be there June 16th. For more info check out wcwawrestling.net or call (619) 364-6744. This is expected to be WCWA’s biggest show ever!

XPW actually announced some matches for it’s next show, Redemption. White Trash Johnny Webb will take on Kid Kaos in a death match, and for all the Lady Victoria fans out there, she will be going one on one against Angel. Vampiro and the Insane Clown Posse are also scheduled to be on the card.

There is a chance that FMW will be announcing a U.S. tour pretty soon and that they will be making a SoCal stop.

It seems like in recent months all the wrestling is stacked at the end of the month. In the last 12 days of May there will be big shows by MPW, Rev Pro, XPW, and UPW. In the first 19 days of the month only really an EWF show of note. Of course some of that is due to the before mentioned Rev Pro cancelation.

Not to dwell on one show or promotion too much but damn, that MPW card is stacked! It would have to try pretty hard to be a bad show.

I don’t really like the title, Steve’s View. I need to come up with a new name for this column. In June hopefully SCU will start daily updates instead of the 3 or 4 times a week now.

BUY A DAMN T-SHIRT! How could you let Mother’s Day pass without getting your mom a SoCal UNCENSORED T-shirt? Don’t let your father down. Father’s Day is in June. Buy your shirts here.

Also don’t forget about the SCU Chat Room. Its a great place to meet girls and talk about wrestling. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Stop by and stop by often. And if you see me in there and no one else, just wait a second. I check the chat often.
